A Woman Suffering from Cerebral Aneurysm was Saved with A Flow Diverter at Uppal Neuro Hospital

Sri Amritsar Sahib, September 12, (Dwarka Nath Rana)- The life of a woman suffering from cerebral aneurysm was saved by a successful operation at Rani Ka Bagh Uppal Neuro Hospital. While giving information, neurosurgeon Dr. Shikhil Uppal said that recently a sixty-year-old woman 'had severe headache and found out that she has 2 aneurysms in her brain, one of which is in critical condition.
Dr. Shikhil Uppal, Neurosurgeon of Uppal Hospital took the decision of operation soon considering the condition and severity of the aneurysm, after which the patient is completely healthy. Dr. Shikhil Uppal said that in brain aneurysm, the inner vessel of the patient's brain swells and It takes the form of a balloon, if the patient is not treated on time, there is a risk of its bursting, which can lead to the death of the patient. Dr. Shikhil Uppal explained that flow diverter is a type of stent which is used in the treatment of aneurysm in the brain. It is injected into the blood vessels of the brain. This diverts blood flow away from the aneurysm, making it less likely that the aneurysm will rupture due to the pressure of the blood flow.
He said that for the first time in Amritsar, treatment of dust aneurysm has been possible through a flow diverter. In this region also this treatment is available only in Uppal Neuro Hospital. Dr. Shikhil congratulated the neurointervention team Dr. Ashraf Dr. Tariq, Technical Assistant Vinod, Tarun for the successful operation.
